Do you like books? Libraries? Enjoy working with adults and/or children? or need volunteer hours?  and would you like to make a difference in your community?  make new friends?  teach someone to read?

If you answered YES to any of the above, then we encourage you to consider becoming a volunteer at your local branch of the San Bernardino County Library.  You can begin by completing a San Bernardino County Library Volunteer application and returning it to your local branch library.  All volunteers receive a thorough orientation and training, and work schedules can be arranged according to your availability and interests.

With a wide range of assignments, from shelving to sorting books, from story time to computer training, from tutoring in our literacy program to assisting with children's programming, your local County branch library has a volunteer position just right for you!

Do you have artistc talents?  Are you technology inclined?  Do you enjoy reading and would like to lead a book discussion group?  Would you like to share your skills with others?  Contact your local Branch library for more information.

Volunteering as an active member of your Friends of the Library is another way to make a difference in your communit!  See the Friends of the Library page for more information.

In April of each year, which is National Volunteer Recognition Month, SBCL volunteers are formally honored at special events held in each of our 32 branch libraries.

For more information about volunteering with the San Bernardino County Library, please contact your local County Library.
